• Voter registration by mail, by voter registration agent, and online closes.
• Early voting begins at County Clerk Offices. In-person same day voter registration
is available.

This is the last day you may request a mailed ballot. You may request a ballot on
NMVote.org or by using a paper application that can be found on our website or obtained
via your County Clerk.
May 30, 2026
Early Voting ends. Check with your County Clerk for a list of alternate early voting
sites and their hours of operation
June 2, 2026
Election Day
• Polling locations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Check with your County
Clerk for location information.
• Mailed ballots must be returned by 7:00 p.m.
• In-person same clay voter registration is available.
New Mexico now has semi-open primaries, which means voters not registered with a major
party or voters registered with a minor party may now vote in the primary election.

Ways you can vote:
- Vote in person at your polling place on Election Day (November 4),
- Vote early (before Election Day) in person, or
- Vote by Absentee Ballot.
General New Mexico Voter Information
To sign up to vote in New Mexico, visit your local county clerk's office and fill out the voter registration form.

The Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State (SOS) website provides a complete list of New Mexico county clerk offices with phone numbers, street addresses and email addresses.
If you submit your form by mail, you will also need to include copies of:
- Photo identification
- Proof of name and residency (e.g. utility bill, paycheck, bank statement, etc.)
You can also register to vote when you apply for a driver's license or ID card, or renew your license or ID, at a NewMexico Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) office.
New Mexico Voter Eligibility
There are a few basic requirements you must meet in order to be eligible to vote in
the United States and to register in New Mexico:
- You must be 18 years old by Election Day.
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- You must be a resident of New Mexico.
- If you have been convicted of a felony, you must have had your civil rights restored.
- You must not have been judged mentally unfit.
