Strategic Planning Training
April 24-25, 2014, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Registration fee: $99

This training is for employees and managers of small or large businesses, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, government agencies and others. The course will take you through a 10-step guide for the development of a strategic plan.

Adobe Construction Basics with Quentin Wilson
April 25, 6 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. & April 26 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Class meets in the Old Diesel Shop on the El Rito Campus
Registration fee: $65

This class will cover the basics from foundations to walls and roofs of structures that meet the New Mexico Earthen Building Code. Information is aimed at individuals who want to design and build an adobe shed or castle and those who have found a romantic ruin to preserve and renovate.

Basic Spanish Colonial Woodcarving with David Vargas & Daniel Tafoya
Learn layout and carve basic, traditional Spanish Colonial designs.
All levels welcome, from beginner to expert.

Spanish Colonial Chair Class with Instructor Ted Bruning

Registration Fee: $150 plus materials
Complete your own Spanish Colonial furniture project using traditional design elements under the instruction of lifelong woodworker Ted Bruning.

Weaving Lab
Fridays beginning March 7, 2014, 9 am – 3 p.m.
All levels welcome. Experience weaving instruction in the Rio Grande tradition and learn the basics of weaving. Work alongside experienced fiber artists in the community.


Bilingual Strategies Language Institute Spanish Immersion Program
On the El Rito campus
April 27 - May 3, May 18 - 23,  June 1 - 7,  July 20 -26

Unlike the traditional classroom format and academic textbooks, this program uses the natural communicative approach: learning Spanish like you learned your first language. Evening sessions will include natural language activities in Spanish, including cooking, music, literature and social media.

Retablo Classes
June 9 - 13,  July 14 - 18

Learn to paint in the tradition of northern Nw Mexico with natural pigments, homemade gesso and piñon varnish. Create your own spin on the retablo with inspiration from the saints.
